Trash Into Treasure

Trash Into Treasure

I’m a little weird…but I like to take things intended for one thing, but use them in a totally different way.  For example, a  3-tiered stand from the garden center to hold potted plants, now holds plates of cookies on a dessert table-And quite attractively, too.

I love hardware stores!  All those do-dads & whatchamacallits that I have no idea of what they might actually BE, end up as part of a decorating or craft project.

Garage Sales and thrift stores send shivers of anticipation down my spine.

I have been known to stop on garbage day, load a piece of discarded furniture into my car, and drive away with ideas of repurposing that piece into something usable and beautiful.  I usually finish the task, too.

I find great satisfaction at taking the unloved stuff people want to get rid of and making it desirable again.

Christ also has a ‘trash to treasure’ mentality.  Creator of all, He finds worth in us, even when we do not accept and value ourselves. He sees us as a treasure, not in the making, but ALREADY!! In Psalm 139:14 & 15, God’s book, the bible, says we are fearfully and wonderfully made.  Each of us is unique, made for a purpose that will ultimately GLORIFY the Creator.

Christ can take the refuse of our lives, redeem us, & be glorified IN & THROUGH us.  I find that awesome!  I encourage you to read that wonderful book, the Bible, and see yourself through the eyes of God.  He loves YOU with an everlasting love.

My latest project involves a $8 cabinet found at a thrift store & 3 large pickle jars. Are you intrigued?

 Confectionately Yours,

Psalm 139:13 For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother’s womb. 14I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.
