Anticipation

Anticipation

A dog park has recently opened up in my community.  I pass by it often.  One warm day I was amused to see a car with all the windows rolled down & 3 dogs with their heads hanging out of the windows, mouths opened, & panting in excitement. They knew where they were headed & they were so happy!  Anticipation is happy expectation.

With few exceptions in my life, the anticipation of an event far exceeded the outcome.  My expectations pretty much NEVER matched up with the reality.

I love to plan. A good deal of the enjoyment for me comes in the thinking through, the gathering of needed supplies/decorations, & the anticipation of the event…whatever that may be.

We are given a few details of what heaven is like.  I can’t quite wrap my mind around it.  Perhaps it is because I have never experienced what Revelation 21:4 tells us.  “There will be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain.”

We will be in the physical presence of the Lord God & our Savior Jesus Christ.  Now THIS is something to ANTICIPATE!!!

The apostle John in the book of Revelation gives us an idea of the golden streets, Crystal Sea, Gates of Pearl.  He has given us just enough for a great mental picture, but I have complete confidence that NOTHING I imagine will compare with the reality.

An old hymn says it well…“There is coming a day where no heartache shall come, no more clouds in the sky, no more tears to dim the eye, there is peace forevermore, on that happy, golden shore.  What a day, glorious day, that will be.”

My prayer today is that a sense of happy expectation fills your heart!  Let’s ANTICIPATE what God has in store for those who love Him.

Confectionately Yours,

Sue
