Reboot

Reboot

It was a Friday afternoon and I was out running errands before my weekend shift.  My cell phone had been working fine when SUDDENLY, it wasn’t.  Since I work Saturday’s ON CALL, it behooved me to head to the phone store for some kind of intervention.

I am not a techie.  I really kind of despise that place. :-)  All those gizmos and attachments are a total puzzle to me.  I’m glad I can’t read the mind of the customer service folks as I’m sure they might be thinking to themselves, “This lady is an idiot!”

Honestly, I felt like one as the young man assisting me peeled off the protective cover off my phone, turned it off completely then turned it back on.  My phone was fixed!

He kindly explained to me that sometimes there are so many updates going on with this electronic device that is seems to go into information overload and just shuts down.

That sense of RELIEF over my resolved situation stayed with me throughout the day.  I was reminded that we as believers can get so overwhelmed by LIFE ‘overload’ that we need to step back from all that we are doing and ‘reboot.’

Time spent quietly just you and the Lord, talking together, reading His word, and thinking about what you read is HOW we as Christ followers should reboot.  Asking for help and trusting His provision lifts the anxiety, and as the Bible says in Phillipians 4 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

I guess you could call this passage the ‘recipe’ for peace!

Confectionately Yours.
