Take Note

Take Note

A friend of mine often said, “More thoughts are lost by the lack of a 3×5 card.” Ideas often come to us in the most random of times.

I keep a notebook close at hand. Post it notes and 3×5 cards ARE my friends, too.  As I read I often have a question I want to research or the answer to a previous question is revealed.

I even write notes to self, little reminders so I don’t forget the really important stuff.  One such note dated and displayed prominently in my Sun Room states simply “Praise first!”

It must have occurred to me that I began my conversation with God that day with a veritable grocery list of things I was concerned about.

I must have realized I had not taken the time to acknowledge God for who HE IS…my LORD, my Heavenly Father, my gracious Redeemer & Provider, the God who sees ME…little ole me… &  He CARES about the very minute details of my life all the WHILE managing everything & everyone else in the universe!!  What an amazing GOD!

That model prayer given to the disciples by Jesus when they said, “Lord, teach us to pray” begins with these very precepts!!  Our Father, who art in heaven, holy is Your name, YOUR kingdom come, YOUR WILL be done.

Reminding myself that GOD IS who He says He is, & and can do what He says can do, praising & thanking Him BEFORE I ask for help in those things I am concerned about…well, I can’t put it as well as Philippians 4:6-7

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer & thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God, and the PEACE of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts & minds through Christ Jesus!”

Confectionately Yours,

Sue
